Bible Notes from Gospel Hall Meetings in Australia
Introduction to THE BIBLE NOTES
THE NOTES The sources of these notes are from:
They
are put together for the specific purpose of outlining the scriptures for
the only scriptural way of the gathering of believers and which is
acceptable to the Almighty God of the creation.
Man can and does gather how, when, and where he likes, but if it is
not strictly according to the Word of God it is not acceptable to our
Heavenly Father. We are told that in the
last days; “Let
no man deceive you by any means: for that
day shall not come, except there come a falling
away
first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” 2Th
2:3. Not
only so, but also this puts us in the Laodicean age
as described in Revelation 3:14.22, in which age many of the once
scriptural gathering of believers have lapsed into severe declension.
This characteristic is highlighted by the fact that the Lord is
outside the church door, and the members of that church are completely
satisfied with that situation. The
scriptural implication of this “last days” condition is that almost
every Christian gathering is unscriptural.
Therefore these notes are written so that this serious declension
may be examined and rectified. Particular
emphasis is given to the proper interpretation of Matthew 18:20, at which
point most error occurs either by way of ignorance, deliberate or
otherwise and most groups of Christians are led astray. “For
where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the
midst of them.” Mat.18:20 It
is important to understand that they are notes and as such some difficulty
has been found in keeping as close to the subject heading as possible. The difficulty is that the scriptures, being the Word of God,
are a complete unity and is the mind of God received by the prophets and
apostles put in writing. This
being the case it is easy for the note writer to possibly move away from
the main subject to another very important and closely related one. The writer has attempted to limit widening the subject as
much as possible. Another
purpose is that our Christian witness may be examined and rectified. The
absolute certainly of these notes is that the Word referred to therein
will definitely be understood by any who meet the following criteria: If
any man will do his will, he shall
know of
the doctrine,
whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself”. John 7:17. Your
comments are welcome provided disagreement is set out with scriptural
support as opinions without that support cannot be properly answered. May the Lord bless these Notes. |
